Nikolaj Mandić (secular name Petar Mandić, 1840 - 1907) uncle of Nikola Tesla, was a metropolitan Zvornik-Tuzla and later Metropolitan of Dabro-Bosnia.
Nikola Tesla's family lived in his house in Gospić.

In 1910, the Zagreb newspaper Srbobran wrote that the late Sarajevo Metropolitan Mandić left all his property to his nephew, the great scientist Nikola Tesla, who lives in America. As it turned out at the time, Tesla sent a letter to the court, informing him that he was donating all this inheritance to the school in Gospić.
