The relationship between Tesla and Edison was controversial. From admiration and respect to resentment.

In his autobiography, Tesla says: The meeting with Edison was a memorable event in my life. I was amazed at this wonderful man who, without early advantages and scientific training, had accomplished so much.
He wrote his autobiography in 1919, when his resentment over the conflict in the War of the Currents passed. But he did not forget it.
Thus, in an article for the New York Times in 1931 on the occasion of Edison's death, he says: If Edison had a needle to find in a haystack, he would proceed at once with the diligence of the bee to examine straw after straw until he found the object of his search... I was a sorry witness of such doings, knowing that a little theory and calculation would have saved him ninety per cent of his labor.
